SlashGear (via  Korean news site The Chosunilbo) is reporting that Samsung has shipped four million Galaxy S 4 handsets in the space of five days, according to information from an unnamed company executive.

The Samsung executive is quoted as saying:

As of the end of April, we supplied four million Galaxy S 4 handsets to telecommunication operators around the world. As of Friday, we have sold more than 6 million units and we predict that we could break the 10-million mark by as early as the end of this month.

Of course, these numbers refer to units “shipped” and not sold. The amount of handset sold could be far less than the numbers quoted. However, these figures beat previous sales of the Samsung Galaxy smartphone. The Galaxy S shipped  3 million in 85 days; Galaxy S II needed 55 days to ship 3 million, Galaxy S3  shipped the same amount in 21 days.
