According to a new report, Amazon is about to open pre-order for its popular Kindle Paperwhite in China.

Amazon has released softwares products such as their e-book store and e-reader applications in the China last December. However, Kindle hardware products have not been launched in the country.

This is about to change, if a report from cnBeta is to be believed. The blog is reporting that Amazon is finally launching the Kind Paperwhite to the Chinese mainland market. However, there is no sign when the Kindle Fire tablet, based on Google Android operating system will go on sell.

The report also highlights that Amazon may face huge challenges from competing devices already in the market and gaining regulatory approvals for their wireless hardware products.

“The U.S. online retail giant will face significant competition in China’s e-book market, and competition. Mainly from Suning and social network Douban, which are new entrants, but also from veteran opponent grand Dangdang,” the report suggests.
