An iPhone 5S and 5-Inch iPhone 6 in 2013 Becoming More Plausible

BrightWire is reporting that a source has informed Laoyaoba.com that, “he has seen the iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 at Apple’s suppliers.” According to this source, the two models are due to be release in 2013.

The iPhone 5S  resembles the iPhone 5 while the 5-inch iPhone 6 is lighter and thinner is lighter and thinner.

A rumor of this nature could easily be dismissed as “Chinese whispers”. However, if you take into context what John Gruber and Macro Arment had to say on this subjected recently, this rumor looks at lot more plausible.

According to Macro Arment post –  A crazier prediction: iPhone Plus is real, and huge:

[quote] Its 640 × 1136, 264 DPI screen would measure 4.94” diagonally, and it would look roughly like this next to an iPhone 5..

It looks a bit crazy, but it’s not that implausible.

By keeping the pixel dimensions the same as the iPhone 5, no app changes would be necessary. While the larger screen would hinder one-handed use, two-handed use would actually be easier because the touch targets would all be larger, and UIKit’s standard metrics and controls still work well at that physical size.[/quote]

Here is John Gruber’s take on the iPhone Plus/Maths rumor:

I believe the iPad Mini (or whatever it’s going to be called) uses the same display as the iPhone 3GS. So instead of cutting these sheets into 3.5-inch 480 × 320 displays for the iPhone 3GS, they’ll cut them into 7.85-inch 1024 × 768 displays for the smaller iPad. Same exact display technology, though — display technology that Apple has been producing at scale ever since the original iPhone five years ago. The common theme of these two posts is that Apple is obsessed with the way current Apps are displayed on their iOS devices. Consequently, if the company can find a way to keep the pixel dimensions the same, there is a very high possibility that iPhone Plus is a sure thing.
