Ten Most Anticipated Phones Already Launched or Launching in 2013

Without further ado, here is my list of the ten most anticipated smartphones already launched or launching this year:

iPhone 5S

1. Apple iPhone 6

The iPhone has dominated the minds of mobile consumers for years, and that doesn’t look to be changing any time soon. The new Apple iPhone 6 is slated for a few drastic improvements from the last model of iPhone, so now is the time to start saving your pennies.

These improvements may include a Quad Core processor, 12 MP primary camera, and better battery life. No word has yet been said about a release date, which means you can expect it to be released later this year.

2. Samsung Galaxy S IV

Vying for the most anticipated phone of the coming year is the highly popular Galaxy S 4, or IV. It’s predecessor, the S3, received Best Smartphone of the Year Award in 2012 from T3 Gadget, a true testament to it’s popularity. This upcoming model doesn’t have any concrete details announced yet, but that isn’t stooping the rumor mill from building castles in the sky.

Rumors abound of a1920X1080 screen, which would make it the highest definition smartphone on the market. There is also a high possibility of a SuperAMOLED Full HD Resolution display. It’s sleek, it’s sexy, and it’s powerful – with better battery support, display, and processor, the Galaxy will fly off the shelves when it’s released.

3. Nokia Lumia 920

This phone may herald good thing for Nokia, as the excitement over this new model is almost palpable. The design – sleek, elegant, but extraordinary, with brilliant colors and unique body design. The best part? The camera! The Lumia 920 is the one phone to feature a Pureview Camera.

The Pureview comes with a 8.7 MP primary and a 1.3 MP secondary camera, sure to thrill the photography fantastic. Because of it’s amazing clarity and image stabilization features, the Lumia’s camera will be top notch when it is finally released.

4. Blackberry BB Z10

Blackberry has a huge fan base, and it’s customer loyalty that drives this new phone into the number four spot on our list. The phone has been rebuilt from the bottom up, featuring a new design, new interface, and new excitement stemming from the Blackberry crowd. While very few details have been released, or even speculated at, enthusiasts are expecting a dual core with a 4.5 inch display.

This phone will also feature a completely reinvented Blackberry OS 10, though what it will look like (and perform like) is anyone’s guess this early on. Keep an eye out for this one, as it’s slated to release early this year.

5. Sony Xperia ZL

Coming in at number five on our list is the Sony Xperia ZL, an Android with some powerful capabilities. With 2GB Ram and at least 64 GB of internal space, this phone has a lot to boast about.

Not enough for you? How about a scratch resistant and shatter-proof screen? Drop it in the pool? No problem – this phone will be 100% waterproof, according to the rumors. This is a big contender in the mobile market, and especially worthwhile if you’re accident-prone.

6. Nokia Lumia 820

The first of Nokia’s Lumia series to hit our list is the 820, sure to delight and dazzle. It will feature Windows 8 OS, similar to others in it’s series, and boast hardware specs that rival the Lumia 920. The Phone would have 4.3 inch AMOLED display with Nokia Clear Black type which supports upto 480 X 800 pixels.

The phone is said to include Dolby Headphone sound enhancement, as well as the ever popular dual cameras, While this Lumia is not as widely anticipated as the Lumia 920, you should still keep an eye on this up-and-comer.

7. HTC 8X

The HTC 8X is most notable for what’s being heralded as a “bold design”, even though it strikes some similarities with the Nokia Lumia 920. The phone is said to have a Dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait Snapdragon Processor, including 1GB ram. Need space? HTC 8X will most likely have at least 16 GB of internal storage, which owners will be able to expand. The phone will also have some snazzy added features, like Beats Audio sound enhancement and two high end cameras (a first and secondary).

8. Samsung Galaxy Note 3

The Galaxy series visits this list twice, and for good reason – the phones are known to be the highest quality, sleek design, and valuable content. The upcoming Note 3 is no different, said to have a larger display than most phones clocking in around 6 inches. We’re expecting to see a quad processor, which will give the Note 3 plenty of power… and with a purported larger battery, you’ll be able to fuel that quad with ease.

9. Google’s Nexus 5

Android enthusiasts have been looking forward to this phone for ages, and it looks like 2013 is their golden year. The Nexus 5 is the Google Android smartphone to own, and speculation says it will be powered by the Android OS 5.0.

Phones in the Nexus series have been consistently popular, as is anything backed by Google itself. The Nexus 5 will most likely be seen in the fourth quarter of this year, hopefully touting a 5 inch 1080 HD display, at least 1GB of RAM, and a quad core processor.

10. Samsung ATIV S

Though the new phone will not be as flashy as more popular models, the Samsung ATIV S has a strong following, and a good deal of passionate excitement about it’s release. This phone will solidify the bond between Windows 8 and Samsung, as the phone is considered it’s windows flagship.

The phone will come with Windows 8 OS, and will boast such features as a 4.8 inch screen. The phone will also have high quality first and secondary cameras – a growing trend that is sure to appeal to those who enjoy video calling.
