Early this month Samsung announced that they will be introducing a smart Evolution Kit at the 2013 (CES).
“The Evolution kit is an innovative concept that enables Samsung 2012 Smart TV to evolve into Samsung’s new 2013 Smart TVs. By simply attaching the Evolution Kit device into the back of a Samsung Smart TV, consumers can enjoy the latest features that the 2013 Smart TVs have to offer.”
“The Evolution Kit is a small, rectangular module that slips into a slot on the back of the TV,” Willcox writes for Consumerreports. “Housed in the device is an upgraded main processor, plus a faster graphics processor, which should speed up Web-based activities such as browsing, as well as multitasking when using apps with TV in a window on the screen. The kit will also enable older sets to enjoy the same features as newer models. So basically the Evolution Kit turns 2012-model TVs into 2013 sets.”
“As the plethora of apps and content grow, consumers are faced with the overwhelming challenge of discovering quality content that appeal their interests,” Kim Hyun-Suk, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics said in a statement. “They are looking for ways to experience converged content, and they want to do it easily. We have simplified the process with TVs that offer more intuitive features, endless connectivity and content options, and larger screen sizes with true-to-life picture quality so consumers can discover a world of possibilities in home entertainment”
