Rumour: Production of 5th-generation Apple TV to Begin in 1Q16

The 4th-generation Apple TV is not even a year old, however, a new report suggests that the 5th-generation Apple TV is on the way.

Digitimes is reporting the fifth-generation Apple TV will come into trial production in December and volume production in the first quarter of 2016. The new Apple TV will allegedly adopt a heat-dissipation solution for the set-top box to handle the device’s new CPU. The new will CPU will dramatically improve the device’s hardware performance and will add new functions to help it no longer serve only as a set-top box (STB), according to the report.
