Pocket Gamer: Apple will Launch an Official Gaming Controller Soon

Pocket Gamer (via 9to5mac) is reporting that Apple is set to launch their own dedicated game controller.

“Long rumored – and hoped for – GDC 2013 has finally provided confirmation that Apple will release its own dedicated game controller,” Jon Jordan reports for Pocket Gamer. “There’s no official word yet, but Apple has been active during the conference talking to developers about its plans and ensuring plenty of games will support the joypad at launch.”

According to the report, multiple developer sources have confirmed the news to PocketGamer.biz.

“It’s expected Apple will formally announce its plans during its annual April press event; previously this has been centred around the iPad,” Jordan said. “None of our contacts had seen or held the physical device so we don’t know if the pad will take a conventional approach or employ a radical new design.”

However, it’s important to note that Pocket Gamer is not the most reliable source when it comes to Apple leaks. According to 9to5mac, a prediction made by Pocket Gamer in the past did not come to fruition.
