Noteworthy Features In iOS 9 And Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

On Monday Apple unveiled their latest iOS and Mac OS X operating systems. There were more evolutionary improvements rather than revolutionary. In some cases, Apple was clearly taking cues from Android and Windows mobile operating systems.

Noteworthy features in iOS 9:

  • Android migration – Wirelessly transfer your contacts, message history, camera photos and videos, calendars, web bookmarks, email accounts, wallpaper and DRM-free songs and books from your Android device to iOS.
  • iCloud Drive app – Managing iCloud is easier with the new iCloud Drive app.
  • Longer-lasting battery – New low power saving mode.
  • iPad Split-Screen Modes – The are three different ways to split an iPad’s screen into segments.
  • iCloud attachments- Long press in the body of an email and you’ll get an attachment option.
  •  New font – Apple has replaced Helvetica Nue font with the San Francisco font used by the Apple Watch.
  • 9. Apple’s New Keyboard Solutions, Including QuickType – This makes the iPad a lot more productive and faster to type on.

OS X El Capitan

Noteworthy features in Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan:

  • File copy resume
  • Copy file path in Finder
  • Redesigned Disk Utility
  • New service extensions
  • File and folder rename in the contextual menu
  •  Auto-hiding menu bars
  •  Improved autofill
  • New color picker
