Want China Times is reporting that Hon Hai Precision Industry — the main manufacturer of Apple’s iPhones and iPads, developing a smart watch device.
The news was announced by Hon Hai chairman Terry Gou at a shareholders meeting.
The wearable computing device can be used to measure the user’s vital signs such as respiration and heartbeat, as well as to check phone calls and Facebook posts. In addition, the device will be able to if the measuring results are not within optimal range, the device will automatically give suggestions to the user about how to improve them, the report claims.
“Hon Hai chairman Terry Gou said his company’s wireless communications and medical research groups also plan to add new features such as fingerprint identification to the gadget in the future, to help record personal health data,” according
“With such a device, you can keep your phone in your pocket and simply check all kinds of messages on your watch,” Gou told shareholders.
Here is the thing, Apple had a similar working relationship with Samsung. However, the Korean Electronic giant began to use their inside knowledge of products in Apple’s pipeline to build competing devices. So it begs the question, Does Apple have another Samsung on its hands?
