During an interview at the New Economy Summit in Tokyo, Japan, Evernote founder and CEO Phil Libin told the audience that his company will be launching hardware devices with partners and eventually they will develop their own hardware devices.
“Eventually, in a few years — three, four, five — I think we’ll be ready to do something ourselves,” Libin was quoted as saying.
Libin went on to explain that these hardware devices will be brand new and “magic” and unlike existing products currently on the market. However, he declined to provide further information when pressed on the matter.
“Evernote has previously partnered with companies to integrate its service into a variety of consumer products,” Casey Newton writes for the Verge.” Camera and scanner manufacturers have integrated Evernote into their products. Evernote released a co-branded notebook with Moleskine last year designed to make it easier for Evernote users to scan their paper notes into the service.”
Evernote will also be supporting Google Glass. The Skitch application is one of the earliest pre-installed app on Google Glass.
