Dfdaily, an online edition of Dongfang Daily, is reporting (via BrightWire) that Apple is set to launch three iTV models of different sizes and types, two of which are ready for production, according to their sources.
Highlights from the Dfdaily report on the three Apple iTV model include:
- Dfdaily’s source reported that they were invited to an internal presentations at Apple’s headquarters. At this presentation three models of three of the iTV were announced.
- The first model is a projection-type TV sized 13-18 inches and “resembles the shape of a Chinese paperweight.” With Retina technology and ultra-high resolution, this entry-level iTV model will hit markets, excluding the Chinese market, as early as May at a price of CNY 10,000-CNY 20,000 (USD 1,604-USD 3,208).
- A second model, a 50-inch iTV that features rollable display. This model is reported to be the flagship iTV model, also features Retina technology and will be priced at approximately CNY 200,000 (USD 32,085).
- It was also reported that Apple did not introduce the third iTV model in the presentation.
If this sounds all too good to be true, it probably is.
In another BrightWire report, China Times is dismissing any chances of an iTV launch in May.
According to the report:
Apple suppliers in Taiwan reported that the Apple TV is unlikely to be launched in May, it is now February and they not been a large-scale preparation of receiving goods requirements.
